Look, long story short. Afghanistan has nothing to do with 911 neither does iraq. The taliban are a group that emerged after we went there. They just defend their people from foreign countries. 90% of the people in afghanistan support the taliban. Osama bin ladin worked for the CIA and went rougue or something. He fled to pakistan and didnt think the U.S would follow but we did. We went there and then 911 happend. The al Qauida group are the actual terrorist not the taliban. I want to know why and how these deep cuts will "tear a seam in the nation's defense." If we pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and stick to covert, small-team military operations, why do we need such a giant defense budget? It doesn't make sense to me in a time when these resources should be allocated to education and the economy.  View
